no more access to FB data for surveillance purposes

FB's deputy chief privacy officer stated that developers of surveillance tools will no longer be able to use FB data. The ACLU of Calif recently revealed that the 20 police agencies in Calif. used data from FB, Twitter and Instagram to track civil rights activists. The social media giants are angry. They want to create and ensure a safe environment for expression. There was no public debate or announcement that FB data was used to spy, censor, or harass people who had the right to express themselves.
