Mirai source code

Mirai source code has been shared online. It is believed to have been used to cause one of the webs biggest attacks against a security blogger in late September. The code was released online over the weekend on a hacker chat forum. The code caused a massive DDoS attack, completely overwhelming the servers with massive amounts of information each second, preventing its function.  The attacks can be used to gather data illegally and force competitors out of business. The security specialist who was targeted believes the release of the code means that large-scale attacks will be easier to launch and many of these attacks will happen soon.
