The Michigan Archival Association (MAA) Program Committee is still seeking program proposals for the 2017 conference. The 2017 conference will be held June 15-16, 2017, in Traverse City, Michigan.
Proposals can be for an entire session (typically two to three people) or for one person - we are happy to help match you with other speakers with similar topics. Sessions typically last an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes depending on scheduling.
From the results of our post-conference survey in 2016, some topics of interest to our members include:
· Records management
· Processing collections
· Diversity in archives
· Small shop issues
· Displays (budget)
· Preservation of physical items (scrapbooks; maps; etc.)
· Local history collections
· Archival software
These are, of course, only suggestions – if you have a particular project or an idea not on the list, we would still love to hear from you! Additionally, please consider using the MAA 2017 Session Proposal Collaboration spreadsheet to find others interested in your topic.
Please send us your name, topic idea, and a brief description of the topic or session to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please submit your proposals by November 1, 2016.
