Student Digitization Assistant

The Library of Michigan is looking for a technologically competent student to assist our digitization program. The majority of the work will involve scanning print documents using a variety of scanners, processing and editing files, and loading them into our digital asset management system. The student employee will also assist with other library and office tasks such as shelving books, sorting mail, processing new materials, and other projects. This position requires good computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn new software.

This is a part time position working no more than 24 hours/week.

Current enrollment in vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution. 

  • Excellent knowledge of standard office procedures and computer applications
  • Library or archives related training or experience
  • Ability to focus on detailed work
  • Ability to resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively

The student must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.
