Why not to do your own art restoration project

A woman in Spain with good intentions and clearly no conservation or restoration skills attempted to restore a 19th c. mural without permission. This is something that should not be attempted on your own. The painter's granddaughter is not pleased. Will it be restored and what will the cost be?
